  • The Panthers jumped right into basketball following the end of football.  This year the Panthers have three teams with the 7th and 8th grade teams playing a regular season and the “B” team playing a a modified schedule.  The “B” team has jumped out to a 1-1 start, splitting games with Little Cypress Christian Academy.  The 7th and 8th grade played St. Anne to tip off the season and then played in the Port Neches Groves tournament against Groves and Lumberton.  Both teams have showed steady inprovement in each game.  The Panthers (7&8) will travel to Orangefield on Monday, December 13 and the “B” team will host LCCA on Thursday, December 16 at MMS.

    November 30 – Coach Burke and the Panther “B” team tipped off the 2021-22 season with a 31-28 win over the Little Cypress Christian Academy Wolves Tuesday night.  Ian Milam led the Panthers with 12 points in the win.

    November 23 (MMS) – Several players took time out of their Thanksgiving break to come up to the gym and get some time in on their game.  Coach Strandberg and Coach McIlwain volunteered time from their break to open up the gym Tuesday afternoon for the players to have a “Shoot Around”.​​​​​​

  • November 5 (MMS) – Basketball tryouts will begin on Monday and Tuesday of next week during the Athletic period only during regular time slot for your athlete.  Wednesday and Thursday will be after school, 7th and 8th together until 5:45pm.  Announcements of the teams will be Friday in Athletics.  Athletic clothes and basketball shoes (tennis shoes if no basketball shoes yet) are required for tryouts.  You must be in good standing with all eligibility rules per UIL in order to tryout.  You must have a physical and RankOne completed as well (football boys this has already been done).  You must be passing all of your classes also in order to tryout. – Coach Adam Strandberg
