BEARS SINK PIRATES

March 29 (LCM) – The Bears (16-4, 4-0) beat the Vidor Pirates 5-1 with Landon Richards pitching a complete game four hitter. Richards gave up no earned runs, struck out five and walked 2.

LADY BEARS STAY UNDEFEATED IN DISTRICT PLAY

March 28 (LCM) – The Lady Bears (21-4-0, 7-0) stayed undefeated in district play with a 15-0 win over the West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs. Tessa Erickson pitched a three inning perfect game for the win. Offensively, Lexis Moss had a 2 Run HR, Ella Stephenson had two hits, and Kendall Jones (above) was 3-for-3 with 2 RBI’s.

TRACK & FIELD HOSTS ANNUAL BEAR RELAYS

March 27 (LCM) – The LCM Track & Field teams hosted the annual Bear Relays Thursday at Battlin’ Bear Stadium. Both the Bears and Lady Bears came away with first place overall. Individual results for the Lady Bears are as follows: Paisley Angelle (1st place in the 100m Hurdles), Briance Barclay (5th place in the Long Jump and 4th place in the Triple Jump), Sarah Barnes (2nd place in the Pole Vault), Kinsley Doucet (5th place in the Discus), Cyra Johnson (3rd place in the 400m Dash), Janet Le (1st place in the 100m Dash), Braxtyn McClain (2nd place in the 100m Hurdles and 4th place in the 300m Hurdles), Ashlynn Mobbs (5th place in the Pole Vault), Jaiden Romar (2nd place in the Shot Put), Mallory Russell (2nd place in the High Jump), Olivia Scheiderer (6th place in the Triple Jump and 400m Dash), Emily Smith (3rd place in the 3200m Run and 6th place in the 1600m Run), Sarah Taylor (1st place in the Triple Jump, 3rd place in the Long Jump, and 4th place in the High Jump), Dinah Tippins (1st place in the Long Jump), Lillie Vitale (5th place in the 800m Run), and Allyson Welch (2nd place in the 3200m Run). The team of Janet Le, Brianca Barclay, Zay Epps, and Maya Meadows won the 4x1 Relay. Meadows, Dinah Tippins, Epps, and Barclay won the 4x2 Relay. Cyra Johnson, Allyson Welch, Braxtyn McClain, and Olivia Sheiderer took second in the 4x4 Relay.

Individual Results for the Bears are as follows: Carson Phelps (1st place in the Shot Put), Ian Loncon (4th place in the Shot Put), Eddie Winters (5th place in the Discus & 3rd place in the Shot Put), Marek Lloyd (3rd place in the Discus), Johnathan Lingo (6th place in the Discus), Jacob Scheiderer (3rd place in the Triple Jump), Bryson Lucas (5th place in the High Jump), Brynnen Manning (6th place in the Triple Jump, 5th place in the 110m Hurdles, and 3rd place in the 300m Hurdles), Jakson Struwe (2nd place in the 100m Run & 5th place in the Long Jump), Michael Ly (2nd place in the 3200m Run), Cazador Edgerton (2nd place in the 800m & 1600m Run), Jay Delk (3rd place in the 3200m and 5th place in the 1600m Run), Lincoln Gaulden (1st place in the 110m & 300m Hurdles), Matthieu Pitre (4th place in the 110m & 5th place in the 300m Hurldles), Co’Ryan Kemp (2nd place in the 400m Run), Taylor Castaneda (3rd place in the 400m Run). PJ Smith, J’Lynn Morris, KD Reed, and Jakson Struwe took 1st in the 4x100 and 3rd in the 4x200. Jackson Smith, Taylor Castaneda, Bryson Lucas, and KD Reed took 1st in the 4x400.

BEARS CLAIM DISTRICT TITLE – GRIZZAFFI WINS GIRLS TITLE

March 27 (Beaumont) – The Bears and Lady Bears golf teams competed in the 18-4A district tournament Wednesday and Thursday at Bayou Din Golf Course. The Bears (above) came in first overall and are the 18-4A Boys District Champions. Junior Maddox Manuel also placed second individually.  The Lady Bears (below) placed second as a team and Cassie Grizzaffi came in first individually and is the 18-4A Girls District Champion. Both teams qualified for Regionals.

PHELPS NAMED BEARS AOW

March 24 – Congratulations to senior, Carson Phelps for being selected as the LCM Bears Athlete of the Week. Last Friday, Carson became a State Champion Powerlifter by winning the 308 lb. weight class of the THSPA Division II State Championship. He earned this by lifting a squat of 765 lbs., a bench press of 550 lbs., & a deadlift of 585 lbs. for a total of 1900 lbs. Carson is the first powerlifting state champion since 2015, and is only the 3rd male lifter in school history to earn a State Championship.

ERICKSON SELECTED LADY BEARS AOW

March 24 – Congratulations to junior, Tessa Erickson for being selected as the LCM Lady Bears Athlete of the Week. In the last two district games, Tessa has batted 8 times with 4 hits, including 4 RBI’s and 1 home run. She got the win over Jasper where she pitched 5 innings and gave up 0 earned runs on 1 hit, 1 walk, and 9 strike outs. Against Bridge City, Tessa pitched two innings and struck out 4 of the 7 batters she faced.
