This is my eighteenth year to teach, and it is my ninth year in the LCM School District.  I have taught 3^rd grade for three years and 5^th grade for fourteen years.  I am teaching 3^rd grade reading/language arts and social studies this year at Mauriceville Elementary School.

Prior to teaching at Mauriceville Elementary, I taught 3^rd grade reading/language arts at Bridge City Intermediate for two years.  I have also taught at Little Cypress Intermediate, Mauriceville Junior High when the “Alamo” was still standing, West Orange, Rockdale, and Newton.  I also home-schooled my daughter for the 1^st through 5^th grades. 

My family consists of my husband, Ellis Boyd, my daughter, Sophie Boyd, and our two cocker spaniels, Winston and Lady.  Some of you may know my husband as “Coach Boyd”.  He worked for 35 years in the district as a coach, principal at LCI, and assistant principal at the high school.  My daughter, who is my pride and joy, is currently ranked third as a senior this year at the high school.  She attended Cambridge University in England  for a month this summer on a scholarship to study aerospace engineering.  Lady and Winston are greatly loved and spoiled dogs who have an amazingly easy life with many luxuries.
 

My favorite place to be is the beach, and I collect anything that reminds me of being there.  I also enjoy reading, learning about history, traveling, and going to museums.
